Our bond and identity can only be found in our identification with Jesus Christ through His death burial and resurrection, not in our ability to pursue and gain earthly and fleshly pleasure.

Life goes beyond the simply defining ourselves by a gender structure, sexual behavior, and any other related signifier. As Christians, we cannot begin to sort through our identity apart from being in Christ more than we can our gender and our sexual behavior. Nor can we rightfully identity according to how we see fit. Our identity can only rightfully be crafted by the hands of the master craftsman who designs and establishes all of creation.
We have allowed the subtle idols to hold places in our hearts and experienced the consequences of our sinful idolatry in our life. For those of the faith, we must be willing to delve into the sources of our idolatry and submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ throughout our lives.

Mankind makes terrible gods, but God makes the perfect man. He provides the example for a failed humanity while redeeming their very existence. We worship God by submitting to Him with all that we are while rejecting the idolatry of the flesh that elevates anything above perfect God who bore flesh.

The resurrection was a display of Christ’s authority and divinity, even after the disciples doubted it, and shows that Christ and Christ alone has the power to save.
We put our stale crumbs on the table and prayed that the Lord would prepare a feast. The mindset was “I will pray all night or until I encounter Jesus, whichever comes first.”
We become the outposts of the Gospel for the glory of God and rise up in our faith by bowing before the authority of Jesus Christ and choosing to make disciples rather than mere converts.
