Nobody Special 093 | Politicizing Baby Jesus

Nobody Special 093 | Politicizing Baby Jesus

Nobody Special 093 | Politicizing Baby Jesus

Caleb and Danny discuss the recent politicizing of the nativity and look at how we should act as Christians as we face the issue of immigration in the United States.

This Advent season people see the nativity at almost every church you face. What you don’t expect, though, is for these scenes to be politicized. But a church in California chooses to defy the expectations and use the nativity for their personal political qualms. We look into the idea of whether Jesus was a refugee or whether this even occurs within the Nativity story. Also, we look at the issues of the immigration conversation and how we should respond as Christians. Ultimately, we agree that we should be willing to listen more to one another and increase the dialogue as we discuss complex topics.

Advent is a time for Hope and this message of God taking on flesh does not need to be politicized to say something it isn’t saying. To check out Danny’s series on hope, be sure and go to The Advent of Hope
