Nobody Special 114 | Ahmaud Arbery and Justice
Ahmaud Arbery went for a jog on February 23, 2020 and never expected that he would be pursued, shot and killed. Now, the community is grieving in light of new evidence. As Christians, this is our opportunity to be the light in times of darkness as we talk about justice.
The issue of justice should be approached by Christians with the understanding that we are called to seek out justice, to care for the voiceless, and value human life. Also, though, we are to treat even our enemies with the grace that Jesus Christ treated us. Join Caleb and Danny as we talk about justice and how we can be the light of God in difficult situations.
“Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” (Romans 12:19-21 ESV)
